So this is the first post of a sewing journey. I plan to provide photos and blurb related to various sewing projects as they progress. Hopefully I can put up some ideas and tips that can help other people - as previous bloggers have helped me :)
I have been sewing for about 5 months or so - evening classes once a week for about 14 weeks of that. I have made: one bag, a set of curtains, one skirt (that still needs hemming and a bit of fixing) and about 2/3rds of a shirt. I have plans for: a skirt, pin stripe shorts, more bags, a funky coat and shirts in many colours. I will post many photos as these progress! I also plan to discuss the problems of adjusting patterns for the bustier girl! At the moment I've only figured it out with help from my sewing teacher :)
So before I go I will leave you with the first bag design I made found on another blog:

This is SUPER easy and a great bag - I use it all the time. I made the strap quite a lot longer - so it fit across my shoulders. I used a funky blue cotton material with gorgeous big flowers on it. It would be cool to make this bag with an outside pocket too - and if you travel a lot the inner pocket is a great passport holder if its made a little bit wider ....

ps: I'm also learning to grow my own vegetables at the moment (with the help of my other half ;).) I will post progress on that too!!
